As some of you may have noticed, DMSG hasn’t posted articles for almost three months. The truth is that when we were looking at our site’s amount of visitors (135k in February), the numbers were a lot higher than what we had anticipated or even wanted. While I greatly enjoy writing these articles and find purpose in penning out this organization’s ideas, the fact of the matter is that we don’t want too much attention. While I could talk about the different reasons, it mostly comes down to the fact that the more attention we get, the more risk it poses to both our careers and our goals.
While DMSG was originally created to study and redesign dialectical materialism, that goal has already largely been hammered out. The material is available to read here but for the most part, the majority of new readers weren’t debating or reading about the philosophical articles. The most popular articles were often focused on policy or political ideologies, with the more meaningful philosophical articles usually being overlooked by visitors. When we look at garnering attention, it’s for the purpose of disseminating ideas, so no matter how we break it down, if that isn’t happening then it serves no purpose for us.
We decided to stop publishing articles for several months because those visitors that continued to visit, I believe, were more likely to keep themselves busy reading prior articles. In summary, we’re writing articles again because the people left are made up of the people that we write for. For those that are reading this in May 2023, thanks for sticking around and we appreciate your patience.
